While peers were studying, I was searching. I wanted to do something creative, started studying law and journalism, but after an abbreviated chef's training in Paris I knew I wanted to go into the culinary world. I did an internship at several top restaurants, but I knew I'd rather start my own business. When the Masterchef program came on television in the Netherlands, I saw my chance and… won! With the prize money I opened my first restaurant when I was twenty. That was almost 10 years ago now! In addition to 't Amusement, I currently also run a second business: Eetwinkel STROOM. I also have three cookbooks to my name, I presented programs at 24Kitchen and I regularly develop creative culinary concepts.
